What's next

Here is a little post to tell about what will be Add'ink tattoo's schedule for the beginning of next year!
We will be opened from Thursday 3rd of January following the regular opening hours.
From Tuesday 22nd, we should have our friend Mattias coming over for a little guest spot. If you want something nice, you can come over for appointment, as he still has availability.
Then on the weekend, (25,26,27th of January) there is the Geneva tattoo convention going on. We will have a booth there, so if you attend to it please come and say hi!

Right after the convention, from Monday 28th of January and until Tuesday 12th of February, the shop will have to close so we can repaint the walls. That's right, we have to close 2 more weeks!
It feels like a bummer, especially because right after the tattoo convention we usually have a lot of visits... But it's also great! New paint, new decoration, we might even make a reopening party!

... And then, from Tuesday 19 of February we have another guest, the talented mister Johann Morel working with us for a week!!! His book is already on the desk for checking out what awesome traditional he does. Again he can take a few more appointments, so if you want to get something nice you can come over and book him.

End Of the year news

Well the world is still here.
The shop is better now, as we managed to fix the floor and the ceiling.
The walls however, have much suffered from the flood. There are little cracks almost everywhere, so we will have to repaint everything!!!!
For that we will have to close for two entire weeks, right after the Geneva tattoo convention.
We also will be closed for the holidays, so here are the next official times Add'ink is closed:
From Monday 24th of december, reopening Thursday 3rd of January.
Fom Monday 28th of January, reopening Tuesday 12th of February.

Uh, what else... Some cool tattoos and projects, art, and lots of paperwork.

Hard times

Well hello!
It's been a super hard month.
Remember my last post was on the 4th of November?
Well 3 days later, on the 7th (I think it was a Wednesday) we had a horrible surprise when we got to the shop on the morning.
Water was raining from the ceiling, and the ceiling fell on the floor. Water everywhere, police and firemen running in the building trying to find the leak...
It comes out our neighbor wanted to do some pluming installation upstairs from the shop, the guy she hired didn't check if the soldering he did was safe, and they both left the apartment for the night.
The shop had to be closed down 3 weeks in order to dry the walls and ceiling. We have to do some major reparations.
We had to change a part of the Granit on the floor. Tomorrow comes the guy to fix the ceiling. We will have to close the shop one week in January in order to paint all the walls.... That mater is still under discussion, because we can't just fix parts here and there, if we have to paint a whole wall the other ones must match the color!

So it took days to cancel all appointments, to assemble all the papers the insurances asked for, and its been quite stressful.
Tuesday 27th we reopened the shop, walls covered with plastic foam to avoid the mess... It will hold alright until the walls are painted new....
I am still a bit worried, since I don't know exactly how the insurances will cover the costs of it all...

But also, there is some positivity. 3 weeks off left me with some time to skate, and just before the accident happened I was chasing some transportation system for my tattoo equipment.
See, I notice every time I come back from a tattoo convention I carry a ton of stuff I didn't use, but brought over anyway, just in case I would need it... And I always have like 3 or 4 cases, all filled with stuff for my booth, and a ton of disposable like paper towels, plastic gobelets and whatever...
So the idea is or would be to shrink down all my gear to the essential, absolute necessity. I made some research on Internet about that, but ended mainly on discussion forums talking either about traveling with a tattoo case on a plane, good info even if i would avoid plane if possible;
or horrible "kitchen magician" websites telling you how to tattoo in your apartment, backyard, in your van or at your friends place, which is a path I am absolutely not willing to take!!!!
Yeah well, anyway I bought a nice case, and I'm all happy about it and now I'm really excited about packing my gear in it to go!!!
All I need is to decide where... Whoohoo! :)
Also, I made a new painting. I am happy about it. It's big so I am not sure to make prints of it, and if I do I will want to make special high quality on super thick paper, making every print as close of the original as possible. Enough of the cheap prints made down at the mall!

Last weeks feedback

Hello, hello!!!
I've been just so busy lately, it's been a super cool period since last post haha...
I went to the Evian tattoo show, it was a great convention, lots of nice people and many cool tattoo artists to meet again!
The week after, we had our guest Adam working at our shop, tons of incredible work done, loads of fun and we even had the time to do some wizard bro tats on each others leg!
...and this week we did some art for an art exposition.
....and I did many tattoos.
...and I don't have much time for sport anymore... But who cares? It's great do do all the rest!!!

Back from summer.

Well it's how I feel right now.
I've been getting back into sidewalk surfing this summer, which feels great. Since they finished the Geneva brand new skatepark, I can even use my carver in the bowl...
That skatepark is the biggest concrete outdoor one of Europe I've been told...
Well I don't know much about the other ones, but that one surely looks huge!

Also, I have worked all summer. Those last few weeks I prepared several new big tattoos, one back piece and several sleeves... So this fall should be very interesting!

On 18,19 and 20 of this month (just next week actually!) I will be attending to the Evian tattoo convention!!! Having a booth there for 3 days, and I still have some free time to take people there for a spontaneous cool tattoo!!!
The week after, we will have a very special guest artist, Adam Christopher!!!! You still can contact us to get an appointment if you are quick, as he's getting booked fast!

Enough talking, more pictures...

More summer work

I won't say much, as the title says it all. And sunny hot weather make me want to go outside and ride my bicycle, skate, eat, and party.

Guest spots!

Hello!
So finally it's Summer. Yay!
too bad it's a bit cold this time, but it doesn't change much things for me as i am getting my back tattooed... sun is not an option for me this year hahaha.

whatever.

Anyway, this summer we also will have some "action" going on, as we always fear summer will be a low season if people leave the city to go on holiday...

Add'ink will be closed the last week july, as from 24 until sat. 28 july i will be doing a guest spot at flying dutchman tattoo studio...
i am already fully booked for that week, but i will go again probably in October or November.

We will also have our friend Mattias coming over for a guest spot, he will be tattooing with us on tuesday 31 of july, tuesday 1rst and friday 3rd of august!
there still is some room for you to get an appointment, but hurry up, as this year we already are very busy.

You can reserve with Mattias or me by showing up at the tattoo studio anytime where opened, and make a deposit (deduced of the price of your tattoo) to fix your appointment.

Please note that on that week,
the shop will be closed on thursday 2nd and saturday 4th of august.

new month, new pictures.

Hello to all of you out there!
So it's already been a mounth?!?! oh damn time is running so fast...
I have been working, tattooing a lot these last weeks, so this time there will be more pictures about tattoos.
Lately i have spent some time thinking about the whole idea of social network.
you see, i am both on facebook and instagram, and what seemed in the beginning like a good way of getting myself known out there and promoting my work to maybe get more clients now became something i don't like as much as i used to...

I find facebook mostly filled with hate, and the source of painful frustrations due to my lack of social contact.
As a tattoo artist, i'd rather spend some time with my friends or go random in a bar or to see a concert, maybe talk with a few people out there, and go home. Or just stay home with my wife, have a beer and do my drawings.
But with this social internet thing, instead of having this spontaneous thrill of discovering whatever would happen on a night out, i feel myself trapped in bullshit feelings because mounths before the event, getting tired of being invited over and over to the same event by people who don't care about inviting me, just want one more person random not me.
And the second part of my frustration is that most of the time, my true friends would use a message on my phone rather than group message if they want to meet me there. So i get all worried when no one contacts me... why do i feel so lonely? why stay on a social network that doesn't give me enough of this social contact?

On the other hand, it really helps me to keep in touch with SOME people. like 10 times a year. and i'm addicted to it, i have been using FB for years, so stopping won't be as simple as it gets maybe....

yeah i'm thinking about quitting facebook. and instagram. quit all the social stuff, except just blogging like every two weeks... that would actually get me like 3 hours free each week, like 12 hours a mounth!!!!! just by stopping hanging on my phone and computer...
well i think that's all for now. I will post some pictures for your eyes to see, thank you so much for visiting my page.
