big days

well hello y'all!

so what's new?
...well i've been working (obviously) a lot the last few weeks, but also traveling a bit.

went to Zurich for two days...
then this tiny tattoo convention in Conthey during the weekend. the organizers take care of us by making a little private access for tattoo artists to eat food and chill a bit if we get too uncomfortable withe the crowd, with is nice. And there's always a whole bunch of people who want to get tattooed there. they actually wait for the artists to come each year so they can get tattooed without having to travel away from their place :)

alright...
about that, though, i think everything about this convention was ok except the contest system.

On internet i really try to complain as less as possible, mostly because it's very alike to take dramatic proportions, but this year the jury was just lame.
I don't even know if any of them where tattoo artist. one of them looked less than 18. three of them looked drunk. a lot of time, they looked bored and basically just gave notes according to the presentation guy yelling the name of the artist and giving personal impression about the tattoo on the microphone.

there. at least i said what i saw, with is important since this is my blog.
But i still had a lot of fun, laughing with other tattoo artists, great loud discussions with friends in the hotel room, laughing to tears at the booth, great tattoos to do, fun tattoos to do... I also met some cool people, all working near me in switzerland. I hope we will meet soon :)

Then, we also went to Copenhagen to see our dear Amalie and Uncle Allan to finish my wife's arm. their blog can be found here.
It was just awesome to talk together about japan, and i am super happy my wife didn't have too much pain!
after her tattoo session we went off for a little walk in Copenhagen.

okay that'll be all for now.

i still really have to post more about japan. next time! soon!

Japan, part one

Hello!!!
We are actually on our tour in Japan, visiting Innina's family and the country. We have spend already over a week in Tokyo, shopping and walking in the beautiful little streets, wandering around...
It was nice to see my wife's grandmother again, meet her uncle and his family! This city is so huge, the mixed architecture is amazing, small houses caught between giant buildings, and the people are so great...
Yeah everybody is just so polite and smiling in restaurants, hotels, cafes and shops...
After 8 days in Tokyo we left the city, took the Shinkansen super fast train to Karauizawa to meet Innina's aunt Kazuko and his husband Etsuo, who carves leather in traditional ways. We stayed 4 days there, and we had the honor to work in his atelier, he explained us how to carve leather and gave me some awesome presents!
Kazuko brought us to play pachinko, a loud and funny game with plenty of flashy lights and stuff... I'm sure I could get addicted really easy! It was fun, and we won!!! So we traded our gains for beer for the whole family :)
I love Etsuo and his family, there is a place right here in my heart for them and I can't wait to see them again, hopefully soon...
It was sad to leave them today, as we jumped in the Shinkansen again to go this time to Kyoto, where we are tonight...
Okay this was a lot to read, thank you for the patience you showed to read it all, here comes some pictures!

Otsukare sama deshita!!!
